In case you missed my confession last week, I am not a translator, but I do like trying to come up with sexy and creative titles for my wife’s muffins (or in this case, cupcakes). I couldn’t think of a better way to describe the coming together of my three favourite flavours: chocolate, maple, and BACON! And to those of you who have never tried the sweet amber nectar of the Great White North (that’s maple syrup for the uninitiated), what are you waiting for?! I can only assume supply must be low in your region.
Apparently, I was a very good boy this past year because my wife surprised me with these birthday cupcakes. She used a basic chocolate cake recipe for the cupcakes and then topped them with a maple frosting and bacon pieces. According to her, bacon is ‘on trend’ right now. I’d like to know when bacon wasn’t trendy?! It’s bacon! It makes everything taste better. Come to think of it, it’s a bit like ketchup in that regard.
